Meet Alexa

She is a wordsmith and a career educator who is deeply committed to helping students succeed, both inside and outside the classroom.

Alexa received a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and received an award for the best thesis in the English Department. After graduating from Penn, Alexa received an M.A. from Columbia University in Secondary English Education.

  • Yes! I carry out all college and graduate admissions counseling and essay packaging directly. I offer holistic and highly personalized support to a select group of applicants each year.

  • It is never too early to begin considering your academic future, and it is wise to begin strategic planning in a way that carries a narrative across all four years of high school. Please reach out to determine the appropriate timeline for your family.

  • I am based in Chicago, IL and offer virtual services exclusively. I work with students across the country, as well as internationally.

  • While the bulk of my students are college applicants, each admissions cycle, I also work with a select number of students applying to graduate schools. I have helped many students gain admissions to top law schools, MBA programs, medical schools, medical residencies, and Masters/PhD programs in various fields. One of my greatest joys is working with students first as college applicants, and then years later as they seek graduate admissions.

  • I oversee an experienced team of SAT/ACT and academic content experts. While guiding students on coursework and test preparation decisions, I match students with tutors who can help them grow in these areas and boost their overall academic profiles. Tutoring is a supplemental offering available to families interested in this service.

  • Absolutely! Each year, my students are awarded multiple partial and full merit-based scholarships. I also counsel students on how to navigate deferrals and waitlists, and help them craft highly effective letters of continued interest.
